In 1996 Mr. Kennedy established the CPA firm: Kennedy & Co. LLC. Mr. Kennedy's goal is to share his management, finance and accounting/auditing expertise with the public. Mr. Kennedy along with Janet C. Kennedy, CPA (managing tax partner of the firm), and the capable associates of the firm, provide complete CPA services to the public.
Mr. Kennedy has significant public accounting experience. Mr. Kennedy provides consulting advice to both large and small entities. He has considerable private and public service including: the ethics boards for both the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, and the Alaska Society of Certified Public Accountants. He also served on the Alaska State Board of Accountancy, the regulatory body for CPAs. He continues to serve the community through many volunteer organizations.
1985 - 1996 Matanuska Telephone Association, Inc. - Vice President of Finance
Recruited by the President/CEO in 1985 when the company was in financial trouble. Orchestrated a complete financial recovery. During the ten year tenure with Matanuska Telephone, other responsibilities to the President/CEO have included: Corporate Tax Planning and Corporate Strategic Planning, Internal Service Improvement Reviews, Accounting/Finance, Regulatory Affairs/Legal, Treasury and Contract Administration.
1979 - 1985 Ernst and Young (formerly Arthur Young & Co.)- Audit Manager
The experience with the international certified public accounting firm provided a tremendous foundation for the successes orchestrated as a CPA. Responsible for complete client service and technical expertise for a variety of clients in several industries. Specialized in auditing, accounting and management consulting for utilities, local governments and many small businesses.
